Rib Cook-Off At River Oaks

Posted: Updated:

River Oaks Care Center at 100 Bailey in Wichita Falls, is hosting their 15th Annual Rib Cook-off. The funds raised from this event go to enhancing and improving the Activity Program at the Center.  In years past, River Oaks has used these funds to purchase big screen televisions, a Wii game machine, and sponsor out-of-town field trips for the residents. The Cook-Off has developed into quite a community event!  Every year several local cooks compete to see who can make the tangiest, juiciest, most tender ribs.  An all-star, celebrity panel of judges cast the deciding votes.  Then everyone chows down on some delicious, lip-smacking ribs!

This year the Cook-Off will be held at River Oaks on June 15th from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The menu consists of ribs, beans, potato salad, corn on the cob, peach cobbler and a soda for $9.  Or you can get a Barbecue sandwich with chips and a soda for $6.  There will be live musical entertainment, face painting and a bake sale on the grounds.  The public is welcome to eat in or carry out.  River Oaks Care Center will even deliver to businesses with five or more orders.

Place your orders by calling River Oaks Care Center at 940-766-0279 or fax your order to 940-767-5637.
