A Wichita County grand jury handed down an indictment for Cary Lee Bailey, 48. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said Bailey killed his cell mate, Douglas Bridewell, on April 21, 2011, at the prison.
According to the affidavit, Bailey beat and choked Bridewell to death.
Bailey is serving two stacked life sentences. One for a murder conviction in Hood County in August 1992. He was also convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for a separate incident in Hood County in January 1992.
