Former Nocona Teacher Pleads Out

A former Texoma teacher charged with an improper relationship with a student has permanently surrendered his teaching certificate.

District Attorney Jack McGaughey said Matthew Brown, 26 pleaded out Thursday. As a part of the deal McGauhey said Brown is on ten years probation, must avoid contact with the 16 year old student victim, and must permanently surrender his teaching certificate.

He was indicted in November with improper relationship between an educator and student.

Brown was teacher and coach for Nocona Independent School District. He was arrested in October of last year and turned in his resignation a day after.
