This week we're taking a look at what the "bible of Texas football," Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine, has to say about Texoma teams.
On Monday we heard what they said about Midwestern State, Rider and WFHS, plus some individual players on their list of the Top 300 recruits in Texas.
The magazine picked MSU to win the Lone Star Conference for the second-straight season, and the third time in four years.
They listed Keidrick Jackson and Brandon Kelsey as the third- and fourth-best players in the conference, respectively.
Both Rider's J.T. Barrett (QB) and Munday's Dee Paul (ATH) were listed among the top players at their position, while Rider's Harrison Sorge (OL) was one of their "best of the rest" and Quanah's Clay Robertson (QB) was named one of the Top 20 Sophomores in the state.
In Class 4A, DCTF had the Rider Raiders as their pre-season #7 team in the state, but new District 5-4A rival Denton Guyer is ranked number one.
Even better, the Raiders are picked to reach the 4A-Division II championship game, but they are predicted to fall to Corpus Christi-Calallen.
The Wildcats, who fall down from 5A this year, are predicted to win the 4A-Division I championship over pre-season #2 Cedar Park.
Wichita Falls High School is predicted to finish 5th but are described as potential "bracket busters" in the new 8-team district, which is listed as one of the two toughest in Class 4A.
