Talks On What To Do With Wichita General Hospital

Wichita County officials are trying to figure out what to do with the old and empty Wichita General Hospital.

The city/county hospital board is working out an agreement with United Regional. Right now United Regional is paying $100,000 a month for the upkeep.

If the city/county hospital board rejects turning the property over to United Regional, the $100,00 a month, will be passed on to taxpayers. The hospital board will vote next month.

If it approves the transfer, United Regional will have two years to decide whether to sell the property as is or demolish the building and sell the land.
