Wichita County Burn Ban Extended?

Posted: Updated:

A Burn Ban in Wichita County is expected to be extended on Monday.

The current week long ban was enacted on Thursday when Wichita County Judge Woody Gossom, was asked by Wichita County Volunteer Fire Departments to put a ban in place.

Gossom used his power as county judge to issue an emergency order, calling for a 7 day outdoor burning ban.

Wichita County Commissioners can now extend that ban.

Newschannel 6 will be at the meeting Monday at 10 a.m. at the Wichita County Courthouse to bring you the Commissioners decision.
