The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting applications for physical and production losses emergency farm loans.
Wilbarger County Farm Loan Manager, Kelley R. Boone, asks farmers who want to apply for emergency loans to submit their applications as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is March 12, 2013, but Boone said if farmers wait too long, a backlog will develop and cause delays.
Farmers who have lost 30% of their production based on damages and losses caused by drought January 1, 2012 and continuing in Clay, Wichita and Wilbarger counties, are generally eligible for the emergency loans.
The FSA office is located 5015 College Dr. RM 1 in Vernon, TX.
