Mysterious Car Crash Kills Elderly Man

Burk Police are trying to find out what caused an elderly man to die in his car off the highway.

Police said the single-car accident at the 3rd St exit Thursday afternoon claimed the life of Irineo Tambunga, 82 of Wichita Falls.

The driver was heading Northbound on I-44 when the car somehow left the highway and traveled 300 ft into a ditch.

Police said they do not know if the driver fell asleep or not. They're continuing to investigate this accident.
