Texoma Roundup: Blacksox & Derby

Blacksox Finish Second In Nation

The Burkburnett Blacksox 15U team earned a spot in the AABC Ken Griffey World Series championship game by clawing back all the way to a walk-off win on Wednesday and reeling off two straight wins.

The Blacksox lost 3-1 to the Rockford Travelers (IL). Holliday's Chase Duncan and Childress's Nicholas Fonseca earned all-tournament. At least 14 Texoma kids suit up for the team.

Derby Doubleheader

The Wichita Falls Derby Dames took on the North Texas Derby Revolution (Denton) in their second to last home bout for the season.

The Dames travel team, the Daughters of Anarchy, lost 148-48. In the second part of the doubleheader, two men's teams faced off. The Denton Outlaws defeated the Oklahoma City Wolf Pack 290-33.

Ten percent of the proceeds went to the Wichita Falls Boys & Girls club. The Dames final home bout will be on September 22nd against a team TBA.
