Blood Drive in Memory of Peyton Hood

Posted: Updated:

A blood drive was held at River Bend Nature Center Saturday in honor of Peyton Hood. She was two-years-old when she died from a rattlesnake bite. Blood is what kept her alive long enough for her family to say one last goodbye.

"We're hoping to do it every year and I hope it gets bigger every year," said Peyton's mother.

Dozens of people donated blood in the bloodmobile. If you missed it you can still donate to Peyton's Drive by going to the Texas Blood Institute. Every person who donates blood gives one pint and that pint can be used to save up to three people's lives.
