Scammers Lure Victims with Fake Free Plane Tickets

Officials with the Better Business Bureau of North Central Texas said consumers nationwide are receiving letters stating that they have won two round-trip tickets courtesy of American Airlines or US Airlines. US Airlines is not a real company, this is not from American Airlines, and you have not won any tickets. These letters are scams.
About the scam:
Consumers are receiving a fax or a letter in the mail. Most of the letters appear to be coming from Arizona and contain a logo of US Airlines or American Airlines. The message contains the following:
· That you have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets.
· The value of the award is up to $1,300.
· The company claims to have attempted contacting you several times without success.
· Last attempt. If they do not hear from you, the tickets may be given to someone else.
These letters may look legitimate but they are not. Scammers have since switched to using the name "American Airlines" and may continue to change the name of the supposed issuing company. This is a phishing scam to acquire your personal information.
