A man has died after a major accident closed down part of I-44 road Monday evening.
Troopers on scene told Newschannel 6 a silver car was going northbound on I-44 when the driver crossed the median ending up in the southbound lane hitting a semi head on.
The driver of the semi was ok. However, emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to pull Timothy Little, the driver of the silver car out. He was taken to United Regional hospital in critical condition but Little died early Tuesday morning. Investigators tell Newschannel 6 that Little could have experienced a medical problem before the accident.
Officials had to close down I-44 at Daniels Road to help control the traffic. The accident is currently under investigation.
