A Henrietta High School graduate died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash.
DPS Troopers said Jessica Rogers, 20, was on her way to work from a friends home when she crashed into a truck pulling a trailer outside Eastland, TX. Troopers said poor weather nor alcohol played a factor in the crash. She had sent a text message moments before the crash, so they suspect driver inattentiveness is to blame. She did not attempt to brake before the crash.
Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was unharmed.
Rogers graduated from Henrietta High School in 2010. While there, she played volleyball and won several district and statewide accolades. At the time of the crash, she was a sophomore at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, where she played volleyball.
