The 2012 Pack Attack Is Under Way

Posted: Updated:

It is one of the summer's last blow-outs before the first day of school.
"Pack Attack 2012" showed youth in Wichita Falls Sunday what scouting is all about.
Scouts enjoyed  a climbing tower, b.b. gun range and lots of field games.
The Northwest Texas Council of Boy Scouts of America put on the free event, in hopes of recruiting more Texoma boys and leaders. They say the benefits of becoming a Boy Scout are great. Those benefits go beyond the fun activities and camp outs.
"It's something that a boy can take with him through his adult life," said Stan Murrow with the Northwest Texas Council. "It's been shown that boys that have been in scouting, even for one year, have a higher rate of college graduation, make more money, and are more active in the community."
Sunday's event was one of many "Pack Attacks" on the schedule.
There are still 11 more fun filled days planned starting in St. Jo tomorrow night at the Saint Jo Square from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
