Romney Seeks To Refocus Campaign On The Economy

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney will try to refocus his campaign on the economy today after days of distraction.

Romney will travel to New Mexico to promote energy proposals aimed at creating more than 3 million new jobs and opening up more areas for drilling off the coast of Virginia and North Carolina, two political battleground states.

Romney's pivot to energy, a key component of his jobs agenda, comes as the national debate has turned away from the Republican candidate's jobs message and toward issues like rape, abortion, welfare and Medicare just 2½ months before Election Day.

A popular Nocona restaurant is serving up food once again after shutting down from fire damage. Bear's Den Diner caught fire two months ago after a trailer only feet away caught fire and heavy winds spread it to the restaurant. Bear Weller, the owner, said the only reason his kitchen is open is that of his customers.
