Woman Crashes Into SAFB Gates

A Wichita Falls woman is facing multiple charges after crashing her car into the gates of Sheppard Air Force Base and sending Wichita Falls police on a wild chase.

Deputy Melvin Joyner said Sheppard Air Force Base police called for back up Tuesday around 11 p.m. when Sarah Louise Wilks, 48, drove her car into the front entrance gate and sped off.

Deputies said Wilks sped toward Iowa Park and swerved all over the road at one point driving the wrong way on 287.

Sheriff's deputies had to lay spike strips on southbound 287 near the Huntington Lane exit. The car's front tires were blown out forcing it to come to a stop.
