Expanding the Shed

Posted: Updated:

One local business is growing and expanding beyond the shed. The Pecan Shed is adding another location and is planting new roots in Henrietta.

The Pecan Shed has committed to adding at least 12 full time jobs at the new location, within the first two years of business.

The new store location will be off HWY 287, next to the Best Western. It will be 5,000 square feet, double the size of their current location. It will offer fresh baked pies, cookies and also a fueling station.

The Henrietta Growth Corporation signed a business assistance agreement with the Pecan Shed, with a packaged deal valued at $79,000. The money will assist with advertising, extending power to the building and building a parking lot

The Montz family, owners of The Pecan Shed are excited to continue serving Texoma their locally grown products.

Jill Montz will be managing the new store location. She commented, "We are hoping it will boost the local Henrietta economy and we want to encourage people to shop locally." Montz added, "We hope people can work close to home and be close to their kids and neighbors. We are just excited to be able to provide that to Henrietta."

Henrietta's Growth Corporation is more than excited to welcome The Pecan Shed. They hope the increased activity out on the highway will bring in new business to the area.

The Pecan Shed hopes to start construction on the new place come the first of the year, and officially open for business this time next year.
