Texoma Business Expanding to I.P.

A Wichita Falls business is expanding to Iowa Park and bringing more than 20 jobs and tax dollars with it. Affiliated Energy Products specializes in turning chunks of metal, into precisely cut pieces for specialized machinery. Business is booming, and they're running out of room at their Wichita Falls location.

The move to Iowa Park has been in the works for several years. Director of Iowa Park's Economic Development David Owen said, "This is actually an expansion, they're currently here in Wichita Falls but they're looking to expand. They's a sister company of Kalco Manufacturing and they're both bursting at the seams and both needing to expand so they're moving A.E.P to Iowa Park."

A.E.P President David Kulbeth said, "They're skilled positions so they pay fairly decent. It's a good feeling to be able to provide jobs." Julia Ward, Director of Human Resources for A.E.P, said staying in the community was important. She said, "We love the area and we love being ale to support the area and the area towns and also Wichita falls. It just made sense to stay here and just try and be supportive of the local communities."

Iowa Park's 4A Board is chipping in $200,000 in incentives to bring the 15,000 square foot building up to the companies specifications. They expect to have their renovations completed by November 15.

Owen said, "It's a great deal for the city of Iowa Park. They're bringing over 22 jobs to the city and it's going to be a very good thing for the city. Twenty two good paying jobs, we'll take that any day and every day."
