Parents Protest Bullying At Rider H.S.

Posted: Updated:

Police kicked some parents off the Rider High School campus Friday morning. A small group gathered outside the school at 7 a.m. to protest bullying.  They said a student was attacked by a bully Thursday at Rider and was forced to defend themselves before teachers were able to intervene.

Because the student physically defended themselves, the school suspended the reported bully victim and the alleged attacker. Rider was following WFISD policy that states anyone caught fighting on campus is immediately suspended.

The protesters don't think the alleged bully victim should have been punished, so they showed up Friday morning with signs in hand.  Everything was fine until one of the protesters stepped onto campus property, allowing police to make the group leave.

We called WFISD officials to talk about what happened.
