Team of the Week: Nocona Indians! - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Team of the Week: Nocona Indians!

The Nocona Indians have won our Dr Pepper Team of the Week for Week One.

As voting wrapped up, the Indians finished ahead of Vernon and Bowie.

Newschannel 6's Jack Lamson will have our Team of the Week feature Friday night.

Remember, the award is a look ahead, not a look back. Every night on the Friday Night High School Football Update, we'll nominate three Texoma teams. Voting opens up after the Update ends and concludes Sunday at midnight.

We're looking to tell a different kind of story with the Team of the Week, whether that's focusing on a players coach, parent, student, fan, the school itself, the town itself, etc. We're always open to suggestions. You e-mail any suggestions to sports@kauz.com

Congratulations to Nocona, and tune into Friday night for the feature and to the Friday Night High School Football Update for next week's nominees.
