Altus Preps For Local Emergencies

ALTUS - Altus area residents will have an opportunity to learn tips and hear speakers talking about emergency preparedness Thursday evening with local emergency management officials.

Date: Thursday, 9/6
Time: 6 p.m.
Place: Southwest Technology Center, 711 W Tamarack, Altus

Those attending can hear from speakers talk about local issues:

  • Generator safety
  • Personal disaster supplies
  • Neighborhood Watch
  • Severe weather


Those attending can update their information or register for Blackboard Connect, the City Alerting System.  

Altus Emergency Manager Lloyd Colston said they're also working on a plan to program weather radios at the gathering.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
