BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State University's main campus is being evacuated following a bomb threat.
LSU police said Monday on their website that they are investigating the threat at the Baton Rouge campus. Students and others were asked to evacuate "as calmly and quickly as possible."
Police did not provide details. There are 30,000 students, professors and university employees located on the campus.
Capt. Doug Cain of the Louisiana State Police says state police bomb technicians are on the scene. Cain says police are talking to their counterparts in states where university bomb threats were reported last week to determine whether there are similarities.
Campuses in Texas, North Dakota and Ohio were evacuated Friday after receiving bomb threats, but police found no explosives.
