Lawmakers To Hear From 'Gun-Walking' Investigator

WASHINGTON (AP) - The report on the bungled federal gun-trafficking probe known as Fast and Furious is the subject today at a hearing by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The report faults the Justice Department for mistakes made in an operation that allowed hundreds of guns to reach Mexican drug gangs while disregarding public safety.

And the report says lower-level ATF officials should have briefed Attorney General Eric Holder much earlier than before 2011.
