September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Ulrich from Texas Oncology talked with us on Newschannel 6 at Noon about prostate cancer facts. 

Did you know...

  • One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime.
  • One in 36 men will die from the disease, making it the second most common cause of cancer death among men.
  • Since 2004, prostate cancer incidence rates in the U.S. have decreased by 2.7 percent per year among men 65 years of age and older, and have remained stable among men younger than 65.
  • In Texas, the number of prostate cancer cases is expected to rise from 16,093 in 2011 to 16, 777 in 2012.
