An amber alert issued Tuesday night in Garland, TX has been cancelled.
Garland police told Newschannel 6 Maliyah Vergenz, 2, and her babysitter, Patricia Garcia, 38, were found in a motel in Terrell about 40 minutes away just after 11 p.m.
Terrell Police took
Garcia into custody without incident. Maliyah
was rescued unharmed and in good condition.
Maliyah has now been returned to her parents and Garcia
is in the Garland Jail, charged with kidnapping. Bond has been set at $50,000.
Garland police say the Maliyah was left at home Tuesday in the care of her babysitter. They were concerned for the toddler's safety because Garcia was distraught over the recent loss of a pregnancy and was refusing to return home with the little girl.
