Ex Fort Sill Soldier Charged In Home Invasion On Trial

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - A former Fort Sill soldier is set to go on trial on charges of robbery, kidnapping and shooting with intent to kill.

Kevon McLaren is due in court Wednesday to stand trial. McLaren has waived his right to a jury trial and will instead allow a judge to decide the case.

McLaren was one of three Fort Sill soldiers charged in connection with a violent home invasion last year in which three people were shot. Prosecutors claim that the three men also stole computers, DVD, clothing and other items from the Lawton apartment.

Attorneys expect McLaren's trial to last about three days. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
