A man recovering from crashing his SUV into a light pole is facing a DWI charge.
The accident happened at 3:18 a.m. Monday on Central Freeway. Wichita Falls Police said Corporal Patrick McFerrin witnessed Jason Benford driving at a high rate of speed on U.S. 287. Corporal McFerrin tried to pull over the 40-year-old man when he veered his SUV off the road, lost control and hit a light pole.
American Medical Response Ambulance the 40-year-old male driver to United Regional Health Care. An arrest warrant for Driving While Intoxicated will be obtained at a later date for the driver.
