BBB 'Secure Your ID' Day

Posted: Updated:

Better Business Bureaus across the nation are hosting an identity protection event this weekend.

Did you know that protecting your identity is largely in your hands?  Fifty-six percent of identity theft victims traced the theft to something that was stolen from their own possession.

Here's the first rule:  If you don't need it, destroy it - responsibly.  BBB is here to help.

Saturday, BBBs in communities across North America will host BBB "Secure Your ID" Day.   A key feature of these events will be FREE on-site document shredding plus tips to protect your identity - online and off.

Bring up to three boxes or bags of paper documents that contain your personal identifiers, and we'll shred it for you -- on the spot, courtesy of Albert Records Management paper pig. BBB of North Central Texas will host this event in the Sikes Senter Mall parking lot facing Kemp in-between Hampton Inn and Dillards from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
