Shell Station Stick Up

Wichita Falls police rushed to the Shell Gas Station just off RT. 287 Tuesday afternoon and immediately began searching for an armed robber.

Officer Jeff Hughes told Newschannel 6 the call came in just after one in the afternoon. A store employee told police a man walked into the store, grabbed a drink from the cooler and approached the counter. When the employee asked if he needed anything else, the customer showed a gun in his waist band and demanded cash.

The employee said the robber took off down Loop 11, toward Airport Drive. She described him as:

  • Black Male
  • Mid 20's
  • Aprox. 6 Foot, 3 Inches tall
  • Black hair with spots of gray
  • Last seen wearing gray sweatshirt and jeans

Police brought out a dog to try and track the robber through the thick brush between the gas station and Wal-Mart on Airport Drive, but they never had eyes on the gunman. Their search is ongoing.
