Two of Texoma's most consistent programs face off for the first time since 2003, as Quanah travels to Seymour for our Dr Pepper Game of the Week.
Seymour enters at 6-2, while Quanah is 5-2. The winner is in the driver's seat for the district championship. For Seymour, an outright district title would be the first for the school since 1957.
For the last couple years, fans could expect to see high-flying passing football from both teams. The teams finished fourth and fifth in passing for the Texoma area in 2011. Through week 5 this season, Quanah was averaging more than 300 yards a game, while Seymour was at a tad over 180 per game. However, both teams can run, both averaging more than 100 yards per game.
Fans will also see two of Texoma's best quarterbacks in Seymour junior Zach Barton and Quanah sophomore Clay Robertson. Both QBs can hurt the defense with both their arm and feet, and both are surrounded by tons of experienced, fast skill-position weapons.
