Contractors are trying to avoid underground lines, as best they can, but with any big project there is always a risk of accidents. While crews were working Thursday they hit a pipe line causing gas to seep into the air and ground.
David Sherrill, Public Works Director, said, "It is benefiting the city in the long run. If someone is temporary displaced we ask their patience, and contractors also ask for your patience. Sherrill added, "They are working as fast as the can. It's going to pay off for the residents in the long run."
The city of Iowa Park does not have an exact date of when construction will be done. If you have questions you are asked to call city hall for more information on the program.
