The Amber Alert issued by Tyler Police Department Wednesday is canceled. West Monroe, Louisiana Police notified Tyler P.D. they recovered Lucas Calvert, 4, safely and arrested his father, 41-year-old James Calvert.

According to an official press release from the public information officer for Tyler Police, the West Monroe Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on a gray, Buick LeSabre with Texas plates. When the driver of the vehicle did not stop, a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle wrecked out at a dead-end road. The driver was taken into custody and identified as James Calvert. Calvert was wanted for Capital Murder in Tyler.

The boy was found in the back seat of the vehicle. He was abducted from his Tyler home.

Two weapons were recovered from the vehicle at the time of Calvert's arrest.

Lucas Calvert went missing after midnight Wednesday in Tyler.

Additional information is expected to be released at a later time, as the investigation continues into this case.
