Honoring our Veterans

Posted: Updated:

Saturday afternoon veterans across Texoma were honored by a Veterans Day parade. It began at 5 and Indiana. Knight of Columbus, local marching bands and veteran organizations attended the parade to honor and remember those who fought for our country.

Veterans Day is Sunday November 11. To honor our veterans the Wichita County Veterans Services Office will hold a memorial ceremony. It begins at 8 a.m. at the Wichita County Cemetery.  They will be honoring the veterans buried there. A school choir will open the occasion with the national anthem followed by the pledge of allegiance and a guest speaker. The proceedings are expected to last 30 minutes and all county residents are encouraged to attend. Veterans and family members of veterans are encouraged to wear any old uniforms.
