Investigators have identified the man killed this weekend while walking down a Texoma highway.
He is 28-year-old Chris Gatlin Smith. He was an instructor with the 361st training squadron at Sheppard.
The deadly accident happened Saturday morning on the southbound lane of I-44 just north of the Missile Road exit. Wichita Falls police said an SUV hit Smith while he was walking in the road.
The woman driving the SUV told officials she couldn't stop in time. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
