County election officials have been working for months to prepare for Tuesday's election day. With less than 24 hours until the polls open, all they had to do was hand out equipment and handle hundreds of phone calls.
Manager of Wichita County Voter Registration and Elections Sharon Kaufhold said, "95% of them are 'where do I vote?' which is fine, that's what we want people to do is call today find out where they need go that way there's no question tomorrow."
Other county employees were busy preparing election kits for poll judges. The kits include label printers, laptops and other equipment for the ballot machines. Kaufhold said, "We have all of the supplies and the poll books. We work to get all of that ready then they pick all of that up prior to the election. Everything is ready, our judges are good to go. Everyone will be setup and waiting on the voters to come tomorrow."
County Clerk Lori Bohannon said early voting numbers were very strong, but Kaufhold said tomorrow will still be busy. "It's still going to be just as crazy tomorrow as it has been during early voting."
The clerks office wants to remind everyone to bring their voter card or drivers license when they go to vote. Be sure to tune in to Newschannel 6 Tuesday for your election coverage.
