The Wichita Falls Nighthawks took another step towards their season-opener on Feb. 17. The team put on the pads for the first time in an open practice for the fans at Memorial Stadium.
"It's one thing with shorts on, but now we find out who the real men are," wide receiver Howard Morrow said. "We're having a real good showing. Everyone's coming out and playing real hard."
The team went through drills, a scrimmage and 7-on-7 action in a practice that lasted about four hours.
Two of the team's newest faces also joined their teammates for one of the first times in offensive lineman Robert Griffin, formerly of the New York Jets and linebacker Sam Fehoko, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles.
