Amber Alert Canceled: Mom In Custody

An Amber Alert has been canceled for an 11-year-old girl who was reportedly kidnapped by her mother.

The mother and daughter were found in Trinity County Tuesday afternoon. The girl was unharmed and the mother was taken into custody.

Trinity County sheriff's deputies said the 11-year-old was abducted by her biological mother, Shelly Jean Hurley, when Child Protective Services went to take the girl from her mother's custody.

Detectives said the mother had a violent confrontation with the CPS worker when Hurley threatened to run over the worker with her car.  The mother then took off with her daughter in a white Ford pickup.

The mother abandoned the white truck in Garland at the girl's grandmother's house and switched to a Maroon Subaru Legacy.

As of now, Hurley's charges are unknown.
