Kell House Museum Gets In The Holiday Spirit

Posted: Updated:

Even though the Kell House Museum is undergoing renovations, that's not keeping Santa away this year.  Starting Tuesday, you can catch him, Mrs. Claus and all the elves at their pre-Christmas home.  Santa House 2012 continues through Friday, December 7th.

This year's Christmas-themed play, "The Magical Rocking Horse Part I", will be performed by ACTors Creating Together.  After the show, enjoy a special visit with Santa before sneaking into Mrs. Claus' kitchen for a little holiday treat.  Before leaving, all visitors will make an ornament to take home.

Admission is still just $3 per person, with children under 2 years of age admitted free of charge.  Tours begin every 15 minutes weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 3 p.m.  Due to the large number of school groups who come during the week, families are strongly encouraged to utilize our evening and weekend hours, and group reservations are required.  Call (940) 723-2712 or visit www.wichita-heritage.org for more information.

The holiday spirit will remain at the Kell House, even after Santa returns to the North Pole in preparation for his special day.  The annual Candlelight Tours of the Kell House will be on Saturday, December 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m.  The lights will be turned down so that visitors may enjoy the sparkle of the holiday season.  Admission is just $5 for adults, $4 for military and seniors, and $1 for children.

For more information on any of Kell House's December activities, please call us at (940) 723-2712 or visit our website at www.wichita-heritage.org.
