UPDATE: December 28, 2012:

Investigation continues on a Vernon High School science teacher accused of having an improper relationship with a student.

Wilbarger County Sheriff Larry Lee said the case work has turned into the District Attorney.

They're still waiting for test results from the lab. Kami Mauldin has not been arrested or charged.

December 4, 2012:

Vernon Independent School District's immediate response to information received Monday has resulted in the investigation of an alleged improper relationship between Vernon High School science teacher Kami Mauldin and a Vernon High School student.

Mauldin has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.

District officials said they will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities during the ongoing investigation.

Newschannel 6 will continue to follow this investigation.
