WICHITA FALLS - During the holiday season people are out and about a little more than usual and family and friends are visiting, which generally leads to an increase in eating out. The Wichita Falls Wichita County Health District provides a valuable online source of important information for people who do dine out called the Restaurant Inspections Score, found using this new link.
The FREE service has been active since 2010 and receives considerable use from citizens who want to know how certain food preparation establishments (restaurants, diners, convenience stores, any establishment that prepares food) scored in their latest inspection.
To use the service go to the link, click Food Establishment Inspections, choose the year and then search alphabetically for the establishment.
The Health District has four inspectors to inspect 1288 permitted facilities in Wichita Falls, Burkburnett, Iowa Park, Electra and the unincorporated areas of Wichita County. Most facilities are inspected two to three times a year depending on their permit classification.
A score ranges from 0 to 100 with zero being the low score. A score of 70 or lower can close a facility.
