UPDATE: Deadly Wilbarger Co. Car Accident

A rollover accident takes the life of an Electra woman and injures her husband.

Department of Public Safety troopers said Johnny Anzaldua, 84, was going westbound on U.S. 70, 4 miles east of Vernon Tuesday morning. He swerved to miss an animal in the road.

The vehicle went into the median and Mr. Anzaldua overcorrected as he tried to get back on the road. It caused the vehicle to roll over at least twice.

Both he and his wife Guadalupe Anzaldua, 85, were wearing their seat belts.

Mrs. Anzaldua was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Anzaldua is listed in stable condition with head injuries at United Regional in Wichita Falls.
