Wichita Falls police have found two of the three men involved in a weekend high speed chase. One of the suspects is still on the run.
Police said the chase started just before 5 p.m. Sunday evening when Eli Ramos Jr., 50, got into a confrontation with an off-duty officer outside of the CVS on Southwest Parkway. As the officer went back to his vehicle to get his service weapon and call 911, Ramos jumped into a stolen rental car with Joseph Christopher Torres, 29, and another suspect and led police on an 8-mile high speed chase.
The chase lasted less than ten minutes and ended when the stolen car crashed on Kell west near Wenonah. Torres was arrested and told police Ramos jumped from the car during the pursuit.
Torres was charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance PG3 (pills). His bond is set for a combined $100,000.
Police tracked down Ramos the next day and charged him with obstruction or retaliation. His bond is set for $750,000.
