The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting applications for physical and production losses emergency farm loans. Wilbarger County Farm Loan Manager, Kelley R. Boone, asks farmers who want to apply for emergency loans to submit their applications as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is September 9, 2013, but Boone said if farmers wait too long, a backlog will develop and cause delays.
Farmers eligible for the emergency loans are generally those who have lost 30% of their production based on damages and losses caused by drought October 1, 2012 and continuing in;
Archer,
Baylor,
Clay,
Jack,
Knox,
Montague,
Wichita,
Wilbarger
and Wise counties.
The FSA office is located 5015 College Dr. Rm 1 in Vernon, TX.
