Police: Man Threatens To Kill Girlfriend Over Tablet

Posted: Updated:

A Wichita Falls man is accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend over her tablet.

Police went to the 400 block of East Rogers January 10, on a robbery call.

The victim said Joseph Carmoney, 21, threatened her if she didn't give him her tablet. He said he wanted to sell it so he could buy a bus ticket to Mississippi.

When she refused, he grabbed her purse. She told officers he dragged her across the driveway of her parents' residence as he was trying to get it away from her. He eventually got the purse and ran off.

He went to the wooded area behind the home. Officers were able to locate all the stolen items except the victim's phone. He returned to the home and he sees the police and runs to the wooded area again.

Police found Carmoney three days later, hiding at Barwise Junior High School, under an outside stairway, behind the school.

He was charged with Robbery.
