Volunteer Reading Tutors Needed

Posted: Updated:

The Wichita Adult Literacy Council, Inc. (WALC) is in need of volunteer reading tutors as there are clients now on a waiting list.

WALC tutors don't just help adults learn to read better…improved reading skills enable adult learners to better navigate routine daily activities, succeed on the job, attain additional training and education, and help advance parenting skills as adult learners become more involved with their children's school activities.

If you are interested in becoming a reading tutor, there will be an orientation January 26th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Texas Building, Workforce Solutions Board Office, 901 Indiana, Suite 180.

The training is February 2nd and 9th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You must attend both sessions. TI's also at the First Texas Building.

For additional information and to register for training: Call Cindy at (940) 766-1954 or email cindy@wfwalc.org.
