Injury Accident Causes Detours

Posted: Updated:

Newschannel 6 is working to learn the updated medical condition of a passenger involved in an injury accident early Friday morning that happened in Wichita Falls.

Six was on the scene of the two vehicle accident that happened around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Southwest Parkway and Taft Boulevard.

Wichita Falls Police Sergeant Gregory Lillis told Newschannel 6 a vehicle turning northbound from Southwest Pkwy. to Taft Blvd. failed to yield the right-of-way and turned in front of a car traveling west on Southwest Pkwy., colliding into it.

American Medical Response crews transported a woman, the passenger of the vehicle that was hit, to United Regional for non-life threatening injuries.

Our crew on the scene said the southbound lane of Taft Blvd. was diverted through the Stripes parking lot, located at the corner, for some time overnight. The eastbound lane of Southwest Pkwy. was also closed briefly to allow wreckers through to the scene.

No charges were filed.

The roadways are now back open.
