Ex-Science Teacher Pleads Guilty To Improper Relationship With Student

A Texoma high school teacher has pleaded guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.

The Wilbarger District Attorney Office told Newschannel 6 that Kami Mauldin, 41, pleaded guilty in court Friday to being involved with a 15-year-old student at Vernon High School.

Maudlin was sentenced to ten year probation, fined $2,500 and ordered to 100 hours community service. The former science teacher was also forced to surrender her teaching certificate and will have to register as a sex offender for the next five years.

Maudlin was put on administrative leave on Dec. 3, 2012.
