Texoma's newest Professional Minor League team is continuing its commitment to being involved in the community with a new contest.
The Wichita Falls Nighthawks are hosting an essay contest and giving away a $5000 prize to the church youth group with the best piece on why they deserve the money. Nighthawks General Manager Jerry Hughes said they wanted to give back to the community that has already been so supportive. He said, "You know that's what any team in any community should be all about. They're definitely going to support us, they already are."
Essays should be 250 words or less and must be submitted by e-mail to wfnighthawks@yahoo.com by 5:00 PM on Monday, February 11th. The winners will be notified on the 13th. Ten people will be invited onto the field to accept the check from NFL Star Tim Tebow on February 17th when the season begins.
