Crowell's Jasmine Sillemon will have the chance to continue her so-far stellar track & field career at the next level.
The senior becomes the first athlete in school history to join an NCAA Division I program, by signing with TCU.
She plans to compete in the 100-meter, 200-meter and sprint relay. Sillemon has won seven medals at the UIL state meet, including four golds in her career.
Archer City's Brittney Griffith also is headed to college.
She'll play volleyball for the Lady Cardinals of Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas.
She averaged 12.72 kills and 3.6 blocks per game her senior year, putting up a solid .301 hitting percentage.
Brittney also led the Ladycats into the Area round of the playoffs the past two seasons.
She said she had very mixed emotions when she put the pen to paper.
"I kinda wanted to cry a little," Griffith said. "But, probably nervousness and happiness about me going to college and playing my favorite sport.
"I know that I'm going to miss my friends and family here, but knowing that I'm going on to play is exciting."
