DUNCAN, Okla. - A worker crushed by a more than 500lbs work-over platform at a Stephens County oil well site is expected to survive.
Sheriff Wayne McKinney said Mickey Pruitt of Velma suffered multiple injuries from the Tuesday afternoon accident. Pruitt is in stable condition at an Oklahoma City hospital.
The sheriff said either a chain or cable failed which caused the platform to fall on top of Pruitt. The platform weighed between 500 and 800lbs. It took four men to lift the platform off the worker.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the accident.
